How high should a pendant light hang above a table?
Between 70 and 80 cm above the tabletop: the table is well lit and the pendant light doesn’t hide anyone’s face.
What size pendant light for my table?
Aim for a diameter of about half the width of the table. Above a long table or a kitchen island, two or three pendant lights in a row look lovely.
And in a hallway?
Keep at least 2 m between the floor and the bottom of the pendant light so you can move around without bumping into it.
Can you have a pendant light with a low ceiling?
Yes: under 2.40 m, choose a compact model and place it above a table or a bed, where nobody walks.
A pendant light in a bedroom?
In the centre of the room or on each side of the bed, instead of bedside lamps: it’s on trend and frees up your bedside tables.
Which bulb should I choose?
For a living space, warm white (2,700 K). The fitting to use (E27, E14, G9…) is listed on each product page.

Our pendant lights

Hung above a table, a kitchen island or a seating area, a pendant light brings the light down to where people gather. At Maison Alméa, it is chosen by material: wood, rattan, stone, travertine or metal. Each one filters and reflects light in its own way.

From woven plant fibres that cast soft shadows to stone that spreads a mineral glow, each pendant light creates an atmosphere rather than a simple point of light. Filter by material and style to find the right pendant light for your room; material and fitting are specified on each product page.

How to choose a pendant light

A pendant light is chosen first according to what it lights. Above a dining table, it should focus the light on the tabletop. In a living room, a wider pendant or one in natural fibres spreads ambient light. Over a kitchen island, two or three small pendants in a row light the whole worktop.

What height and what size?

Above a table, you generally leave 70 to 80 cm between the bottom of the pendant and the tabletop. As for size, a diameter of around half or a third of the table width looks balanced. Our article on the right pendant light height gives all the guidelines, room by room.

Stone, rattan, wood or metal
