NidoHand-woven rattan and bamboo ceiling light, living room, Ø 30 cm
Single-head hanging ceiling light, with a hand-woven bamboo shade measuring 30 cm in diameter and 35 cm in height. It is fixed to the ceiling by a round plate and hangs from a cable. The shape is taller than it is wide, with a step that marks the lower part.
The bamboo is split into thin slats and then crossed diagonally, producing a regular diamond mesh. This technique gives a supple yet firm wall, able to keep its shape without a visible metal frame. The mesh lets the light through while breaking it up: when switched on, the shade casts a network of shadows onto the ceiling and nearby walls. The shade of the bamboo, naturally irregular from one slat to another, darkens slightly over time. The bottom opening stays clear for direct lighting.
- Material: hand-woven bamboo
- Diameter: 30 cm
- Shade height: 35 cm
- Structure: 1 head
- Fitting: E27, 1 lampholder
- Bulb: not included
- Dimming: no, light not dimmable
- Power supply: alternating current
- Warranty: 2 years
Installation: fixed to the ceiling via the plate, on a single electrical outlet, then connected to the mains. Bulb not included, allow for an E27 bulb. The connection must be entrusted to a person competent in electrical work.
Above a kitchen island or a table, the 35 cm height concentrates the beam on the work surface. In an entrance hall or a stairwell, the vertical shape fills the available height without taking up more floor space. In a bedroom, it serves as ambient lighting, with the mesh softening the direct light.
