Why is every stone light unique?
Stone and travertine are natural: veins, shades and small cavities vary from one piece to the next. That’s what gives them their charm.
How do I care for stone and travertine?
A soft, dry cloth is all you need. Avoid water, household cleaners and abrasive sponges, which dull the stone.
What atmosphere does a stone light create?
A warm, mineral light, very soothing. Stone pairs well with linen, light wood and sandy tones, in a wabi-sabi spirit.
At what height should I fix a wall light?
In a living room or hallway, between 1.60 and 1.80 m from the floor: the light passes above eye level without dazzling. Above a bed, allow about 30 to 40 cm above the mattress.
Do I need an electrician to fit a wall light?
If there’s already a cable outlet on the wall, wiring it is simple: switch off the power at the fuse box, connect the wires to the terminal, then fix the wall light. If in any doubt, call an electrician.
Which bulb should I choose?
For a living space, warm white (2,700 K). The fitting to use (E27, E14, G9…) is listed on each product page.

A natural stone and travertine wall light gives off a soft, mineral light, with shades unique to each piece. The raw, sensory material warms the wall with a muted glow.

In a wabi-sabi, pared-back spirit, these natural stone and travertine wall lights suit a bedroom, living room, hallway or entrance, indoors.

How to choose a stone wall light

A stone wall light is chosen first according to the room and the effect you want. In a living room or entrance, a model with a natural stone or travertine back plate creates ambient light that reveals the texture of the wall. Above a bed, a wall light with an adjustable head also serves as a reading light. In a hallway, two or three wall lights spaced 1.5 to 2 metres apart are enough to guide the way without glare.

Travertine, natural stone or alabaster marble

Travertine is a limestone with small natural cavities, in beige, yellow or walnut tones: it gives a warm, soft light. A denser stone reflects the light onto the wall instead of letting it through. Alabaster marble, finer, lets the light filter through and seems to glow from within. Because each stone is quarried and cut, two wall lights of the same model never have exactly the same veining.

Fitting height and bulb

A wall light is usually fitted between 1.60 m and 1.80 m from the floor in a living room or hallway, and at around 1.20 m to 1.40 m from the floor on either side of a bed. Choose a warm white LED bulb, around 2,700 to 3,000 K, which brings out the tones of the stone. Our guide to installing a wall light covers each step.

Care

A soft, dry cloth is enough for everyday cleaning. Avoid acidic products (vinegar, descaler) which dull limestone. To go further: cleaning and protecting a stone light.
