Our wabi-sabi
Wabi-sabi celebrates the beauty of the raw and the imperfect. Inspired by this Japanese aesthetic, these lights showcase the material as it is, with the veining of the stone, the texture of the wood and natural fibres, for a warm, soft light.
Models in travertine, stone, wood and natural fibres, whose shades vary from one piece to another. Each wabi-sabi light is presented with its material and type of lighting.
Wabi-sabi lighting celebrates raw materials and simple shapes. This collection brings together our wall lights and pendant lights in travertine and natural stone, sometimes combined with wood or walnut, in a Japanese or retro style. To understand this art of imperfection and bring it into your home, read our wabi-sabi lighting guide.
What is a wabi-sabi light?
A wabi-sabi light embraces raw material: stone with irregular veins, wood with visible grain, simple shapes, unpretentious finishes. Its light is soft and indirect, designed to soothe rather than to light brightly.
Wabi-sabi wall light: where to fit it
Above a console table, on either side of a bed or along a hallway, a wabi-sabi wall light in travertine and wood creates calm pools of light. Allow a height of 1.60 to 1.80 m in a living area and a warm white LED bulb around 2,700 K to keep a muted atmosphere.
Creating a wabi-sabi interior with light
Use several small light sources rather than one powerful ceiling light, choose natural materials (linen, ceramic, raw wood) and leave space around objects. To get started, read wabi-sabi decor: where to start and the wabi-sabi style at home.
