What makes a designer light?
A graphic shape that stands out even when switched off: clean lines, geometry, crisp finishes.
Where should I place a designer light?
Where it can be seen: above a table, in the hallway or on each side of a sofa. It’s a decorative piece in its own right.
How high should a pendant light hang above a table?
Between 70 and 80 cm above the tabletop: the table is well lit and the pendant light doesn’t hide anyone’s face.
What size pendant light for my table?
Aim for a diameter of about half the width of the table. Above a long table or a kitchen island, two or three pendant lights in a row look lovely.
At what height should I fix a wall light?
In a living room or hallway, between 1.60 and 1.80 m from the floor: the light passes above eye level without dazzling. Above a bed, allow about 30 to 40 cm above the mattress.
Do I need an electrician to fit a wall light?
If there’s already a cable outlet on the wall, wiring it is simple: switch off the power at the fuse box, connect the wires to the terminal, then fix the wall light. If in any doubt, call an electrician.
Which bulb should I choose?
For a living space, warm white (2,700 K). The fitting to use (E27, E14, G9…) is listed on each product page.

Delivery is free across the UK, with no minimum order. You have 90 days to change your mind, and return costs are on us.

What is a designer wall light?

A designer wall light is all about line: geometric shape, light bar, C curve or cylinder. The integrated LED allows slim shapes that draw the light on the wall rather than simply lighting it.

Where to fit it

In the living room, a designer wall light on either side of a sofa or a TV creates comfortable indirect lighting. In a hallway or entrance, a series of identical wall lights gives rhythm to the passage. Above a bed, a slim wall light with warm light serves as a reading light.

Choosing well
